Aterballetto is an Italian ballet and contemporary dance company –directed by Cristina Bozzolini (Amedeo Amodio and Mauro Bigonzetti were the previous directors). Aterballetto will present Solo from Tempesta-based on Tempesta/The Spirits-, with the dancer Damiano Artale, the performance expresses the lyrical and profane nature of humankind in the beautiful scenario of the most impressive architectures of Assisi.
Aterballetto is Italy’s main ballet and contemporary dance company. As a recognised Dance Production Centre, it is supported by the Emilia Romagna Region, the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, Ater, and Mibact. Cristina Bozzolini is the current art director (after Amedeo Amodio and Mauro Bigonzetti). Aterballetto is formed by solo dancers who can perform any style of dance. In Assisi, they will be the closing act of the UniversoAssisi festival with Golden Days (Sunday 23 July at 21:15 in the churchyard of St Rufinus Cathedral). Golden Days will bring the entire Aterballetto company on stage combining Johan Inger’s famous choreographies, Rain Dogs (music by Tom Waits) and Bliss (music by Keith Jarrett), in a solo, Birdland (music by Patti Smith), which made its début at the Seville Italica Festival on 30 June. Three different worlds held together by the propulsive force of artists who have helped mould the contemporary human architecture through music, leaving an indelible trace of the golden days that have gone by.
