Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio
The Orchestra Piazza Vittorio was created as a project of the Apollo 11 Association in 2002 by Mario Tronco and Agostino Ferrente, inspired by artists, intellectuals, and cultural experts. The aim was to enhance the value of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, the square in the Esquiline area in Rome, the city’s multi-ethnic district par excellence. For the past 14 years, the Orchestra has been a unique ensemble that is well-aware of the fact that mixing cultures means creating beauty. It does so by promoting research and the integration of different repertoires to create a new global sound. The Orchestra has recorded five albums and has performed in over 1000 concerts around the world.
